Milk Drying Process

• Air inlet from within the building is fed through filters to the steam heater using 12 bar steam.
• The air is drawn in through 2 exhaust fans and heated air enters the top of the spray dryer.
• Spray dryer's bottom is inverted cone shape with a rotary double blade scraper that pushes the skimmed milk powder into 2 exhaust ducts.
• Dried milk powder is fed to 4 cyclones on each side of the dryer (8 cyclones in total). The powder then drops into a screw conveyor, which was originally used to feed a packing line (not included and not available). The air from the cyclones passes to a large filter where any further powder is removed and dropped into kegs.

• Skimmed Milk Powder Processing Line Includes:

  • Pasteurizer
  • 5 Stage Evaporator
  • Spray Dryer with rotary nozzles & related equipment: heater, fan, cyclones, etc.
  • Pumps, pipework
  • Mostly stainless steel construction
  • The milk powder equipment is still installed inside one building at a still operating dairy product factory located in Europe
